Love this memory, Robert. Reminds me of my “Paris haircut” story. Will share it the next time we talk.

Robert!! This is fantastic. And I swear it’s the male version of something I wrote a while back. I love the idea of who we are through our hair styles… this was so relatable and good and wonderful

Thanks, Abbey!

I had so much fun finally writing this one down. I didn't know about you, but as I've been writing more of these Needle Drops pieces, it's really brought it home to me that we all have our favorite stories that we like to tell, but writing them down is something very different. It's like we zoom out to get more of the surrounding context, and we get a chance to synthesize how more of the puzzle pieces come together.

For so long, I'd seen my 'colorful' years as being down to my guard rails being compromised after my mum's death (she was definitely the one who set the rules in our family), but what I've come to see is that so much of it was a mask. I wanted people to see the peacock mask, rather than the broken kid behind it.
