Wow. Beautiful writing Robert. Poignant, heartfelt. I wonder what he would say if he read it. Sadly, these types rarely care what good people think. I’m not familiar with this guy. What’s his name? I’ll check him out.

Oof. Beautiful and powerful and haunting. As a therapist I think the same way as you: what happened to you? Who hurt you?

Thanks, Kate. Him being born just a few weeks after my daughter gave me a way in to explore the WHY, rather than be outraged, overwhelmed, and exhausted at the WHAT and the HOW.

Here's a little background on him:

Thanks, Karen. Realizing Stephen Miller was born the same year as my daughter gave me a lens to explore his life—and what might have shaped it.

When my daughter was three or four, she saw a TV appeal about a humanitarian crisis in Africa. We hadn’t realized she’d been watching, until she brought us her ceramic piggy bank and a toy hammer. She wanted to break it open so we could send her money to help feed the starving children.

Moments like that—when her kindness just shone through—stayed with me. And I couldn’t help but wonder: what was happening to him during those same years?
