I really loved this piece and learning more about your mindset, rituals, and inner thoughts! This style was a bit different from your other writings, but it really struck a chord with me in such a good way! Thank you for sharing your thoughts! Seeing the different “streams” laid out like that was really helpful in applying this type of thinking to my own life :)

Thanks, Sierra!

What's funny about this essay is that I think I've being working on it subconsciously for the last few months, and so when my friend asked me about my transition into retirement, it was like putting a new battery into the Energizer Bunny.

I've always thought in models a lot, and the best way for me to really shape them is to explain them to someone else. When I got home last night, my fingers were just itching to get to the keyboard to start typing. While I slept, I recognized some of the elements that I'd missed yesterday, and so I was raring to go when I got up this morning!😊

I subconsciously work on ideas too (usually with my YouTube channel where I'll write down a video idea and then mull it over for a long time until I'm ready to talk about it or some ideas connect and it's ready to be explained!)!

I totally agree about explaining to someone else as well...I'm an out loud thinker, so it helps to have a thought-partner to work through ideas with in a conversation. So glad this piece came together, and thank you for sharing it!

I totally agree! Letting ideas simmer is part of the process, but it’s often in speaking them out loud that they find their shape. About a year ago I mapped out the high points of my various careers, and the common thread was always the same: finding a co-creator on the same — or a complementary — wavelength. That back-and-forth shorthand — and the spark it creates — is what keeps it alive. 🙂

I love that reflection and finding a common point across your career milestones of finding a co-creator! That's always been really hard for me since I've had a lot of tough co-founder experiences, so I hesitate to jump into a project with someone, but it inspires me that you've found it to be so helpful! Maybe I need to try it for more creative experiences than just "entrepreneurial" ones!
