So many great things about it. The sentence "Ralph’s hand rested on Lily’s blanket, trembling slightly, reaching but never quite bridging the gap." just really tells so much about the relationship.
And the sentence "She wanted to smooth it back, but her hand hesitated mid-air, unsure if her touch would bring comfort or only deepen her sense of loss." got me emotional.
A great way to make the readers feel. I sure felt it.
Holding On means a lot to me, and your comment really touched me. Chapter 3 drops tomorrow—I’ll be narrating it shortly. In it, we meet Rachel’s brother, David, and feel the strain that grief places on even the closest ties. There’s also a flashback to the moment Ralph first learns his diagnosis.
It’s a tender chapter. You might want to keep tissues close.
I'm really glad I decided to serialize Holding On, because I think that book lends itself to slow reading (or listening). Also, doing the narration works really well for final, final editing! 😊
Thank you, Abbey!
That means the world to me, because I love your writing too. We need to noodle on how we can collaborate on something. 😊
Oh my gosh, I’d love that. Your brain is beautiful
An amazing chapter, Robert.

What a beautiful chapter. As always, right in the room.
Robert! Goodness this is stunning. I love reading you
Thanks, Anne-Marie.
